Thanksgiving Recipes
I love chocolate desserts. I really, really love chocolate/coffee desserts. Wow, such a heavenly combination.
Now, I’ve tried countless recipes for espresso/ coffee desserts and for the most part, they usually use espresso beans either crushed or finely ground. And always the same result, somewhat grainy, something akin to cracked pepper that catches you by surprise. Not good.
The better way to go is to use fresh brewed espresso (not coffee). Not only does it mix better with most recipes, the taste that is acquired from a well-balanced espresso blend, and the oils and crema from the bean itself provide the perfect ingredient for the best of your recipes.
And here’s a simple Thanksgiving Dessert recipe I recently discovered:
Espresso Trifle
In a saucepan, bring Water, Sugar and Fresh-Brewed Espresso to a boil.
Leave to cool.
Layer Pound Cake, Vanilla Pudding and Shaved Chocolate in either Individual Glasses or a Large Dish.
Pour the cooled Espresso syrup over the Trifle.
Decorate with whipped cream and serve.
